Overflow V exhibitions theme is “seizing the moment”

Art House Turku’s summer exhibition, Overflow V, is being held in Turku for the fifth time. The theme of the exhibition is “seizing the moment,” a concept also reflected in the way the exhibition itself was organized. After the WAM Museum of Contemporary Art moved back into its own building, the Kilta Gallery was set to remain empty for the summer. The visual artists at Art House Turku seized the opportunity without hesitation and organized a group exhibition featuring over 50 works. Photographic Centre Peri’s first exhibition at Kilta Galleria will open in August, following the Overflow V exhibition.

As many as 41 artists are participating this year, some of whom are new to the exhibition. Art House Turku is alive, growing, and evolving. Last year, the teams from Brinkkala and Kunsthalle Turku joined the initiative, and the use of the spaces is also becoming more diverse. The Overflow group exhibition is renewed every year simply because the group of artists is constantly changing. This year, the new space provides great inspiration: just imagine what Kilta Galleria will look like when the group exhibition fills its rooms with its abundance and opulence! On display are paintings, embroidery, sculptures, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and mosaic works. The visual artists at Art House Turku present insightful glimpses, gentle observations, and bold statements about the moment we share—this time.
