SUSHI BATTLE: Restaurant Karu

Two chefs. One shared menu. One winner.

Event Kitchen’s Sushi Battle brings together head chefs Valtteri Willberg and Ralf Södergård from Restaurant Karu, both seasoned professionals shaped by international sushi competitions, to face off over a five-course sushi menu. The menus are built around the same ingredient theme but each with their own distinct vision.

The evening unfolds through five themes: miso, sashimi, wildcard, sushi and dessert. Both chefs create their own bold and unique interpretation of each course and you get to taste them all.

Compare the dishes side by side, vote after each round… and finally crown the champion of the evening together with the other guests.

Between courses, kitchen knives give way to swords in a Suiō-ryū Iai Kenpō demonstration, where two swordsmen from Turku Kendo Club Rendaino perform traditional Japanese sword art with precision, focus and control.

This is not just dinner – it is a culinary duel and you are the judge. There can only be one champion!
