The course introduces two different techniques for color woodcut printing: using multiple blocks and using a single block. You can choose either of these two techniques. In the multiple block technique, different colors have their own blocks, while in the single block technique, the same block is worked on alternately by printing and carving.
As time is limited, the size of the work cannot be very large, maximum A4. If your hands are not strong enough to carve wood, softer foam PVC tiles are available.
The strength of the woodcut technique lies in simplifying the image, so think of an image that does not have too many details. The image can be a close-up study (e.g., of a tree trunk or a bunch of grapes) or a highly simplified landscape view.
