During the biennale week, documentation of the Sofa conversations (Helsinki 2024) will be featured as a video exhibition at the Basement of Factory at Art House Turku. Opening hours: Wed–Fri 12–18, Sat-Sun 12-16.

SOFA – Conversations on Utopias brings current and political discussions into the hustle and bustle of the city. In the series, Porkola invites special guests to sit with her on the sofa and consider social change and utopias. Passersby in public space can hear what artist, activist and academic think on the matters and are invited to dwell, look at the world and the future together, sit nearby and listen, and eventually take a place on the sofa too. The performance discussion invites everyone to contemplate what kind of future we want to build.

Pilvi Porkola (she/her) is a Helsinki-based performance artist, writer, and researcher. She works extensively in performance art, artistic research, and public engagement projects.
