Make your own tableware, then enjoy a restaurant dinner served on the pieces you’ve made!

This experience consists of two parts that form a complete whole:

Part 1: Wed 6 May, 17:00–19:30 – Clayroom (workshop)

Part 2: Wed 27 May, 18:00 – Event Kitchen: Hall of Words (dinner)

The most delicious ceramic experiences of spring come to life at Event Kitchen! This ceramics course combines clay, food and shared experience in a unique way. In this two-part event, you will first create a beautiful starter bowl and main course plate under the guidance of Clayroom’s ceramic artist Sanna Leinonen.

Four weeks later, on 27 May, the course culminates in a shared three-course dinner, where you will reunite with your workshop group over food and drink, with the menu served on the tableware you have made yourself. The experience is completed with local ingredients and surprising flavour combinations. The food is prepared by Event Kitchen host and chef Jouni Kuru, known from Kustavin Kipinä and as the organiser of the Food & Fun Festival. The dinner includes a glass of bubbly (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to set the mood. Wine and other beverages will also be available to purchase separately during the evening.

At the end of the evening, you will take your own tableware home with you.

This is more than a course – it is a complete evening experience, where your own craftsmanship becomes part of the table setting and the dining experience.

No prior experience is needed – just come with a curious mindset. The course is suitable for both beginners and more experienced makers.

Tickets €130 (Part 1 + 2)
The price includes instruction, all materials, firing, glazing and the dinner with a welcome drink.

Limited spots available – book yours early!

By registering for the 6 May workshop, you will also be automatically enrolled for the 27 May dinner, so there is no need to book separately.

What you will do in the workshop (6 May):
– Make one main course plate (20–30 cm in diameter)
– Make one starter bowl
– Learn the basics of clay handling and slab-building techniques
– Shape the pieces by hand and using moulds
– Influence the form, rim design and colour choices
– Choose either a white glaze or an alternative shade selected by participant vote
The pieces will be fired and glazed by the instructor before the dinner.
