The Aurora series continues in spring 2026!

Three eras, three strong composers – one intense evening of chamber music. Violinist Annemarie Åström, cellist Ulla Lampela, and pianist Tiina Karakorpi invite listeners into the expressive world of the piano trio, where tradition and contemporary music engage in dialogue.

Helvi Leiviskä’s piano trio brings out the deep thought and inner tension of Finnish modernism. Robert Schumann’s first piano trio in D minor, on the other hand, pulsates with romantic passion, poetry, and restless energy. The concert concludes with Matthew Whittall’s work Where the rain ends begins the sky…, which opens up a contemporary soundscape for the listener – sensitive, contemplative and brightly expansive.

This concert is a journey into the timeless questions of music and ever-renewing expression, as well as an experiential whole for chamber music lovers and curious listeners.

Please note the following:

The location of the concert hall has changed. The new location is on the 5th floor of the Factory building at Art House Turku. All concerts will now begin at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.

The capacity of the new hall is significantly smaller. Therefore, we ask all participants to register for the concert in advance so that we can ensure that there is enough room for everyone who wants to attend. You can register via the link above or at mike.valtonen@tmj.fi.
