Digital Art House

Digital Art House project’s main objective is to develop and serve art and culture professionals and organisations by providing digital operating models from the perspective of best practises and service design. We enchance our partners’ activities in concrete terms, for example by implementing an advanced online shop for events and services, as well as products directly from the Art House Turku website. In addition, we train our operators by organising seminars, demos and workshops, creating concrete skills to make use of digitalisation. The project starts from the needs of the Art House Turku’s own community and scales up from the national level to the international and Web 3.0 era technologies.

CULTURHUB sub-project focuses in particular on expanding the network of international and digital cooperation, for which the Art House Turku’s membership of the Trans Europe Halles network provides a strong basis. The core functionality of CULTURHUB is built around a digital co-residency, which will expand into a virtual co-residency in the summer of 2025. The community is open to all professionals in the arts, culture and technology, as well as representatives of organisations.

Virtual Art House (VAH) is an extension to the Art House Turku in parallel reality: it is a complete culture centre in virtual reality, with exhibitions, events and performances, as well as a place to work and meet. A completely non-physical and real-time multi-user environment will enable a whole new way of experiencing culture anywhere, anytime. For cultural professionals, the virtual environment will enable entirely new ways of performing and exhibiting productions and will be beta tested for professionals in February 2025. The VAH will open to the public on 1 June 2025 as an international Extra Live event, accessible via mobile, PC or VR glasses.

NextGeneration EU -funded Digital Art House project expands our culture centre’s activities as a pioneer of digital and international activities in the Finnish cultural ecosystem and also in an international context.

CULTURHUB

CULTURHUB is an open digital platform and community platform that brings together cultural professionals and organisations to share their expertise and resources. One of CULTURHUB’s main activities is the online community residency for cultural professionals and organisations. The co-residency serves as a think tank to explore forms of co-production and collaboration in digital environments to promote the cultural ecosystem.

CULTURHUB is part of the NextGeneration EU-funded Digital Art House project.

Virtual Art House

Turku Art House is expanding into a digital cultural centre (Virtual Art House will start operating in the metaverse on 1 June 2025). The Virtual Art House will have several spaces for digital and virtual productions, which we also aim to expand and adapt to the needs of the community, as well as for co-productions with partners.

The first event “Extra Live” will open on 1 June 2025 and can be applied for through the CULTURHUB community! The open call for all cultural professionals is open until 31 December 2025. Read more at the link below.
