Sounds of South festival to be celebrated this coming weekend 11-12 July 2025

Sounds of South, the largest festival of Afro, Latin and Caribbean music in the Nordic countries, will take place for the third time on 11-12 July 2025 at the House of Arts. This year’s theme, ‘Cultural spectrum’, invites visitors to experience a unique mix of traditional and modern music and dance genres.
The opening day of the two-day festival on Friday 11 July 2025 will be a family-friendly event showcasing the rich traditional cultures of Africa, South America and the Caribbean. On Friday, the festival can also be explored in a street parade from Kauppatori, via Kauppiaskatu and the Library Bridge to the Art House Turku (Nunnankatu), featuring cultural dances from different countries. There will be a parade of 100 people, guaranteed to get you in the festival mood!
On Saturday 12.7.2025, the celebrations will include DJ LatinQueen, Yuniel Dieguez, DJ Yuni, DJ IKE (Belgium), DJ Teeshow (UK), DJ Bizi Brown (Germany), Astrid Nicole ja Star Koba.
