Gallery Aski’s Exhibitions and the Activities of the Rettig Visual Artists in 2027

The theme of Gallery Aski’s exhibitions in the coming year is collaboration. Gallery Aski will organize exchange exhibitions with INSELGALERIE Berlin, a Berlin-based gallery focusing on political and socially engaged contemporary art. Visual artist Heikki Marila has been invited to hold an exhibition at Gallery Aski, while Ilkka Virtanen and Kimmo Kumela will be featured as guest artists in members’ solo exhibitions. The gallery will also once again present a programme from the Turku Animated Film Festival.

Following an open call for exhibitions, the exhibition committee of the Rettig Visual Artists selected exhibitions by the following artists and artist collective for next year: Heli Ryhänen, Taru Salonen, Eliisa Määttälä, Alexander Salvesen, Johanna Sipilä, Masoud Shahsavari, Rose-Mari Torpo, Lars Holmström, Taidekollektiivi Kunst and Liisa Hietanen. Towards the end of the year, the Rettig Visual Artists’ members’ exhibitions will feature six artists: Tuuli Oikkonen, Lena Kuivisto, Annika Dahlsten, Elina Ruohonen, Reija Palo-oja and Sini-Meri Hedberg.

The association’s international projects will continue at Gallery Aski next year, when the directors of its partner, INSELGALERIE Berlin, will present their work at the gallery in the summer. In turn, a group exhibition by the Rettig Visual Artists will open in April at INSELGALERIE’s premises in Berlin. Verein Berliner Fraueninitiative Xanthippe e.V. promotes greater visibility and recognition for the work of women artists and women scientists. The Rettig Visual Artists also operate locally and will, among other activities, organize a group exhibition at Kaarina-talo.

Gallery Aski is a contemporary art exhibition space established in 2024 at Art House Turku. The gallery is run by the Rettig Visual Artists association, which consists of 23 artists working at the Art House Turku.
