WAM Kilta Gallery
Organiser: WAM Turku City Art Museum
Jussi Haro’s exhibition Street Hawk continues the exhibition series of WAM Kilta Galleria.

The works of Turku resident Jussi Haro (b. 1985) are characterised by social commentary and activism.
The works of Turku resident Jussi Haro (b. 1985) are characterised by social commentary and activism. The works are multifaceted, veiling serious topics in light humour and popular culture references. Through his works, Haro visualises and questions aspects of the use of public spaces that we ignore or take for granted, such as the way the use of spaces is controlled or restricted via exclusive urban planning and the way we unconsciously accept it.
The work of Haro is informed by the long-term collection processes of different materials, through which he wants to record the public space as part of his artistic work. The materials for his works include items found on streets, including concrete and car window glass. The exhibition includes Haro’s works from the last few years as well as brand new pieces.
Jussi Haro is a member of the Association of Finnish Sculptors and Turku Artists’ Association. In addition to private collections, his his works are in the art collections of Turku Art Museum and Turku City Art Collection.
Exhibition texts by poet Hanna Storm
The guiding idea of the exhibition series is to invite a writer or an author from outside the field of visual arts as a work partner for each artist. The partner will write a text as part of the exhibition based on the theme and works of the exhibition.
The exhibition text for Jussi Haro’s exhibition is written by the poet, performance artist and doctor of literature Hanna Storm (b. 1985) from Turku. Through her art, Storm examines experiences of outsiderness and loneliness. Themes important to her include spoken language, mixing different linguistic registers, minimalism, typographic tools as well as taking into account the physicality and holistic artistic nature of works of poetry. Storm has published three collections: Kutsun itseni kylään (Inviting myself over) (Aviador 2018), Kanootin säilyttämisestä talven yli (About storing a canoe through winter) (Aviador 2020) and Silittäisinkö häntä vähän(Should I caress them a little) (Aviador 2023).
The exhibition is curated by Jonni Saloluoma, Exhibitions Curator, WAM Turku City Art Museum. The exhibition is supported by The Finnish Heritage Agency.
