
Art House Turku Ltd
Art House Turku Ltd is a non-profit company owned by the City of Turku. It is responsible for the operation of the Art House. Its mission is to promote and support cultural activities and the employment of art and culture professionals, to develop and organise the Art House concept and to bring life to Old Town of Turku.
Art House Turku opened in spring 2022 in the former Rettig´s tobacco factory in Turku’s Old Town. It serves as a multi-arts centre where artists and creative professionals meet each other and their audiences. It already hosts visual artists, performing artists, literary and verbal artists, comic artists, but also accountants , advertising agencies and other content producers. All of them are tenants of Art House Turku Ltd.
In addition to the permanent rental premises, Art House Turku also has event spaces that can be rented for shorter periods to host exhibitions, performances, events, workshops or private events.
Jere Pensikkala, CEO of Art House Turku since September 2022, has extensive experience in the management and production of cultural institutions. Jere’s main focus is on developing the facilities and the concept of Art House Turku, alongside financial and administrative tasks.
Anna-Maija Vaimala works as the producer at Art House Turku. She has been working at the Art House from the very beginning. Ansku runs and coordinates the day-to-day life of the Art House, taking care of things like space rentals, coordinating productions and is also responsible for the sustainability matters.
The team also includes Ville Laaksonen, project coordinator of the Digital Art House project.
Art House Turku is an associate member of Trans Europe Halles network.
