Meet the artist Renja Leino at the Overflow III exhibition on 9th August between 2.30pm and 6pm.

Renja Leino (b. 1958) is an artist who has been based on Korpo island for 33 years and currently works mainly with painting, but also with video, photography and installations. Questions of content are central to her artistic work. The works inevitably crystallize the world that is troubling the mind of the artist at any given time. The dialogue between the works born out of current questions of existence, where situations change and the flow of news is endless.

Renja Leino was awarded the TAIKE Southwest Finland Art Prize 2021, and her work can be found in several Finnish collections: Finnish State, The Museum of Photography, City of Turku, Oulu and Helsinki, EMMA.

Renja Leino is co-founder and director of international AARK Archipelago Art Residency in Korpo. The residency started in 2015 and has hosted hundreds of art professionals from around the world.

Leino worked for decades as a lecturer of photography at the Turku Academy of Fine Arts, currently as principal lecturer emerita.
