Lilli Haapala, The garden of immersions, 2024

The themes of the work are illuminated by the concept of being immersed, which the philosopher Emanuel Coccia describes in his book The Life of Plants – The Metaphysics of Mixture: “All worldly beings are immersed in something that is immersed in them.”
On the one hand, the work can be seen as a description of a person as whole; from the parts visible on the surface, as well as the unconscious depths that affect us strongly.
