Jukka Suhonen – I DON’T KNOW, I DON’T KNOW 14.-30.3.

Galleria Ask’s March exhibition features acrylic paintings on canvas, works painted with liquid ink on paper, and drawings with ink pen on paper.

Jukka Suhonen’s style is versatile. The colorful paintings and black and white drawings create a multidimensional and layered impression.

The visual tension in the works is created by strong contrasts, dark and light, and a bright, clear color palette with contrasting colors. The tension is also visible on a symbolic level, as his works depict both beauty and destruction, raising the question in the viewer about what is the role and responsibility of man in the world of painting?

Jukka Suhonen’s art is socially responsible and the themes of his works do not remain alone in praising the beauty of man and nature, but reveal the threats of its destruction and man’s responsibility in these processes. The abundant use of symbolism and carefully considered details provoke reflections in the viewer and force them to face the challenges of a modern lifestyle.

Jukka Suhonen is a visual artist from Joensuu and has had numerous solo exhibitions around Finland. The most recent in 2024 at Villa Suruton Savonlinna, Galleria Uusi Kipinä Lahti, Galleria Becker Jyväskylä and Galleria Aarni Espoo.

His works are in private collections and in the collections of the Finnish state.

The exhibition has been supported by the North Karelian Regional Cultural Fund.

Welcome to the opening 13th of March at 5 pm!
