CULTURHUB: Open Call #2 for EXTRA LIVE open NOW!

Are you an art or cultural professional who wants to push the boundaries of art in the digital age? CULTURHUB open call for applications to join the Extra Live event.

Starting from November 15th, 2024, we invite culture professionals and organization partners to apply to Co-Create an ambitious and global scale event “EXTRA LIVE” in Virtual Art House , which will be ongoing from June 1st 2025 until December 31st 2025.


Why?

  • Extra= Because metaverse is an another level of existence and reality in addition to the physical world, which it is connected to. 
  • Live= Because everything happening in metaverse is happening and shared in real time, just as ordinary life.
  • Together, we can join the world building of EXTRA LIVE event and co-create something extraordinary.

  • Where? 
  • Virtual Art House (Metaverse platform, with following spaces available)
  • – Main exhibition, Larger museum scale VR space
  • – Infinite Culture Tower (Small white cube solo spaces, infinite number available)
  • – Public space with immersive Stage (180-video, interactive elements and avatar-based productions)
  • – CULTURHUB (Co-working space, laboratory, incubator and think tank)
  • Any physical, digital or virtual venue or event connected to the Virtual Art House 
  • Host a VR-Space dedicated for presenting Virtual Art House anywhere!

  • How? 
  • CULTURHUB Online Residency to Co-create productions (Early 2025)
  • CULTURHUB Virtual Residency as public art work (Late 2025) 
  • Co-create: Curatorial, theoretical, conceptual or artistic input, technical partnerships etc.
  • Solo: New or existing digital (or digitalised) productions
  • Production support and part-funding available for productions with Co-create residencies OR work dedicated for the event as whole. 

  • When? 
  • OPEN CALL: This application is open until 31.12. 2024. You will receive a confirmation letter for your application in couple of days from completing this form. 
  • CULTURHUB Co-create residency starting from February 1st 2025 to be accomplished by May 15th (some flexibility on timing based on the range on production)
  • CULTURHUB Virtual residencies ranging June 2025 to December 2025 
  • EXTRA LIVE Opening 1st of June 2025 and running until December 31st 2025 
  • Event closing December 31st 2025.

  • Who?
  • Professionals from all fields of culture and also from organisations can apply to join the co-creation and the world building of our EXTRA LIVE.

  • CULTURHUB is part of the Digital Art House Turku project by Art House Turku and it is funded by NextGeneration EU. Open Call is also supported by French Institute in Finland. Apply by 31st of December 2024 HERE.
