The NFT ViRtahepo Metaversessä (eng. NFT Hippopotamus in Metaverse) seminar and accompanying workshop will open up the opportunities created by NFT blockchain technology, virtual reality (VR) and metaverse for cultural and artistic actors in the changing cultural environment. For some, these technologies are like an elephant in the digital transformation of the cultural scene. Although these technologies are already here, their impact, potential and challenges are not always willingly addressed, even though they will inevitably shape the culture of the future.

It is important to talk about these technologies in the cultural sector because they offer new opportunities for expressing creativity, reaching audiences and developing business models. The seminar will feature presentations by Anna Puhakka and Anna Laamanen from the National Gallery, Aura Seikkula from Futuarts, Mike Pohjola from Turku Youth Theatre, and Hannu Järvensivu from the National Opera. They have also actively supported the project coordinator Ville Laaksonen in the development of the Digital Art House.

Registration for the seminar is required in advance, as the number of participants is limited. Reserve your place for the future by registering now using the link below!

The Digital House of Art project is off to a flying start. The first online co-residency of CULTURHUB, the project’s international cooperation network, is about to start, while tendering and cooperation negotiations for the VR/Metaverse platform are underway. Getting to this point has required a lot of brainstorming and brainstorming on digital solutions with a number of cultural operators.
